Reasons behind Magnus's actions (powered by my idiot brain)

Image
Why Magnus took such radical actions: First of all, I do not think that Magnus is doing all this because of his own selfish reasons. Although I do not fully agree with Magnus's actions, I do believe his actions are well thought in contrast to being emotionally driven. Here's what I think are the reasons behind Magnus's decision: 1.  Magnus already knew about Hans's past. He wasn't comfortable playing with him consequently. This coupled with Hans's rapid rise in chess made Magnus vulnerable to suspicion. 2.  Magnus said in his statement that he found Hans not fully concentrated during the game. One of the main reasons behind Magnus's success in chess is that he takes his losses very seriously. For this reason there is no way Magnus will be calm knowing an around 2700 rated GM beat him without even using full concentration, that too with the black pieces. 3.  Magnus probably knows about various chess cheating incidents of the past and how the punishments of th...

Other potential reasons behind Magnus's resignation against Hans Niemann

Image
It is almost evident what Magnus is implying through his actions. Nevertheless we are waiting for Magnus to state what this is really about. But there could be other reasons why he resigned against Hans that way: 1.Hans didn't play the London system: Everybody knows that London system is the greatest opening ever. After Magnus saw c4 on the board, he realized Hans might be trolling with him by not playing the London system. As a result, Magnus had to resign to save himself from embarrassment. 2.Chess was speaking too loudly: Hans already said that his chess speaks for itself. Therefore we can't reject the possibility that in this match chess might have started to talk a little too loudly.  3.Magnus had to go to the toilet: This is a legit possibility. Magnus could have asked to delay his match. But that would mean whole world would know about this incident. Naturally Magnus decided to resign instead.

Crazy Queen sacrifice in the Italian opening! Even engine doesn't see it coming!!

Image
Do you like when someone sacrifices their queen and end up winning in absolutely brilliant fashion? I am gonna show you one such brilliant queen sacrifice that can happen even in your games. (I had it myself).  We start with one of the most popular openings at all level. The Italian opening :  Then after 3.Bc5 4. d3 Nf6 5. Bg5 d6 6. O-O we arrive at the following position: Now we chase the white's bishop with 6.h6 7.bh4 g5 8. bg3 The surprise starts now . We play h5 here, threatening to trap the bishop with h4. But notice white can play Nxg5 and go for an attack on the f7 pawn, which resembles the knight attack or the fried liver attack. WE DON'T CARE! we trap the bishop with h4! Then after Nxf2, the best move for black is Qe7 after which engine gives advantage to black( at a high depth). But we will discuss another move here. We will take the bishop with hxg3, SACRIFICING OUR QUEEN!. After knight captures the queen, Engine doesn't see it coming! Lichess Engine at a low dep...
